Every minute we obtain data on various physico-chemical parameters. We are able to tell when small biological wastewater-treatment plants are effective in their normal operating mode on a daily and weekly basis, and when there are critical moments (anomalies) in the wastewater-treatment process where improvements need to be sought.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you to <a href=\"https:\/\/videscentrs.lvgmc.lv\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/videscentrs.lvgmc.lv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">State Ltd &#8220;Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre&#8221;<\/a>, from whom we additionally obtain precipitation data so that we can assess the impact of groundwater infiltration in the central sewerage networks.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you to the staff of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vnkserviss.lv\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.vnkserviss.lv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ltd &#8220;VNK-Serviss&#8221;<\/a> for their technical support.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Big data for the assessment of environmental-policy outcomes in the Latvian water-management sector&#8221; (project reg. no. 1-08\/97\/2023) is implemented with the financial support of the Latvian Environmental Protection Fund<\/em>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1163\" height=\"459\" src=\"https:\/\/oxy-usbi.rtu.lv\/wp-content\/uploads\/B.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1045\" style=\"width:196px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/usbi.rtu.lv\/wp-content\/uploads\/B.jpg 1163w, https:\/\/usbi.rtu.lv\/wp-content\/uploads\/B-960x379.jpg 960w, https:\/\/usbi.rtu.lv\/wp-content\/uploads\/B-768x303.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1163px) 100vw, 1163px\" \/><\/figure>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For the second month now, the Institute of Water Systems and Biotechnology has been monitoring treated wastewater online.
