The study program allows students to acquire both theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in this field, as well as to acquire skills in equipment and process design, and product development. <\/p>\n","garais_apraksts":"<p>Biotechnology and bioengineering is a rapidly growing field that combines natural sciences and engineering. The study program allows students to acquire both theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in this field, as well as to acquire skills in equipment and process design, and product development. <\/p>\n<p>The program is jointly implemented by the University of Latvia and Riga Technical University, which provides students with access to the resources of both universities. The teaching staff of the study program courses are recognized scientists in their fields of specialization. During their studies, students study such study courses as biological systems design, information technology, chemistry, biophysics, genetics, genomics, materials science, microbiology, entrepreneurship, cell and genetic engineering. Also, it is possible to choose specialization courses in medicinal (red), environmental and industrial (white) and agricultural (green) biotechnology.
