Change of the name of the Research Center for Civil Engineering

In June, 2020, the Research Center for The Civil Engineering has become Water Systems and Biotechnology Institute. It includes Water Research and Environmental Biotechnology Laboratory and the Spatial and Regional Development Research Center. As we grow and develop, we also strengthen our positions in the field of biology and biotechnology in order to supplement the knowledge and skills of industry professionals in both professional and higher education fields.

Kamila Gruskevica received Young Scientist Award

May 31st our senior resercher Kamila Gruskevica received highly honored REHVA (Federation of European Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Associations) Young Scientist Award in recognition of her outstanding scientific achievements and for her contributions to improve energy efficiency and indoor environment of buildings.

NeoZeo and RTU researchers innovative facility that allows upgrading biogas into biomethane

On 22th March, in the LNT broadcast “LNT news” was the story of NeoZeo and RTU researchers innovative facility that allows upgrading biogas into biomethane. It cleans the biogas from hydrogen sulfide, moisture and carbon dioxide, compresses it to the required pressure, as well as storing the resulting product. The facility is able to produce smaller volumes that is suitable for farmers. Currently, these device are used on the farm ‘Vecsiljāņi “.

Water Research laboratory researchers about water filter installers

In late January to the Water Research Laboratory arrived guests from the broadcast Bez Tabu. They wanted to find out whether the measurements taken by the various water filter installers are true, or does not. Laboratory views represented Kamila Gruskevica and Sandis Dejus.
