The overarching aim of the project is to develop a national biomedical research platform to address public-health problems in the RIS3 field “Biomedicine, medical technologies, biopharmacy and biotechnology”, in accordance with the task of the State Research Programme. To achieve the project’s objective, the following activities will be carried out:

• Development of new products, technologies and methods by implementing research pilot projects;
• Improvement of scientific results, in particular by increasing the number of multidisciplinary and inter-institutional scientific publications;
• Development of human-resource research capital;
• Enhancement of the knowledge base to promote cooperation with industry, including hospitals, and to apply for new national- and international-level research projects and participate in international research consortia.
